Best time to visit
November to February is coolest and driest; March to May is hottest; the rainy season (June–October) brings short afternoon showers but fewer crowds.
Money
Cash is still useful for markets and street food, though cards and QR payments are widely accepted in malls and larger restaurants.
Sun & water
The sun is strong year-round — pack reef-safe sunscreen, and agree on a price before any boat, jet-ski or parasailing trip.
Dress code
Modest clothing (shoulders and knees covered) is expected when visiting temples such as the Sanctuary of Truth or Wat Phra Yai.
